A Recollection of the Ultimate Cross-Country Road Trip
We loved every moment, including that time we had to walk in darkness in the middle of a National park because we had no flashlights – which prompted us to buy this headlight for future adventures! We drove through smoke during the wildfires, but it was all worth it.
We visited amazing State and National parks, but some of our highlights were from the Harvest Hosts accommodations. A lot of our Harvest hosts were farmers who allowed us to feed the animals and explore the beauty of our nation.
We met the kindest hosts and immersed ourselves in the culture and history of each town we drove past. We even immersed ourselves in the extreme weather conditions! At one point while we were in Kansas, there was lightning, a thunderstorm, AND a tornado warning all at the same time. Luckily, we made it safely into the basement of our Hosts.
We visited beaches, lakes, and the desert in Nevada. If you love roasting in the jaws of hell, you’ll love Lake Mead in Boulder City. We saw even more stunning places, like the Bridal Caves in Camdenton, Missouri. And we saw and learned about alligators in Moss Point, Mississippi.
The final stop in our three-month adventure was Florida! As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. So, relive some of these wonderful moments with us:
As always, we look forward to sharing more of our adventures with you.
